Hello and Welcome!
According to the Vatican’s Central Office of Church Statistics, approximately 80% of the world’s Catholics now live outside Europe. As the Catholic Church has become increasingly global, the images used in prayer, teaching, and worship should more fully reflect the people who make up the Church today.
Worldwide Sacred Art:
- Celebrates the artistic traditions of cultures throughout the world and recognizes local sacred artists.
- Helps us encounter Jesus and Mary through the rich cultural expressions of the Global Church highlighting the humanity we share with them and the one Gospel proclaimed around the world.
- Bears witness to the saints, martyrs, and holy men and women from every nation, reminding us that holiness flourishes in every culture.
